Creative Dance- Preschool Ages 3.5-5
Wednesdays, 3:45pm-4:25pm
8 week session beginning on January 11, 2023
Dance activities emphasize the fun and excitement of discovering the world through movement. Explore dancing with scarves, rhythm instruments, parachute play, story dance, yoga, and much more! This program is run throughout the school year and will culminate in an informal performance the end of May to share all we learned. Winter Session: 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 3/1, 3/8
Tuition:  $112.00/8 Week Session

Creative Dance-  Grades K-2
Wednesdays, 4:30pm-5:10pm
8 week session beginning on January 11, 2023
Dance skills and movement vocabulary are taught with an emphasis on body awareness and confidence in movement. Create beautiful improvisational dances as you learn and explore the tools of dance - technique, design, rhythm, flow, and creativity. In addition, you will develop music appreciation as you dance to the many musical rhythms, learn problem-solving skills, and create solo and group dances expressing the uniqueness of each dancer. Yoga postures and stories and relaxation techniques are integrated into the class to connect body, mind, and spirit. This program is run throughout the school year and will culminate in an informal performance the end of May to share all we learned.

Creative Modern Dance- Grades 3-6
Wednesdays, 5:15pm-6:10pm
8 week session beginning on January 11, 2023
Modern and ballet dance technique is formally introduced with an emphasis on self-expression, creativity, and fun. The class is designed to develop rhythmic, coordination, and creative skills necessary in the art of making dances. Through yoga, dance exercises and combinations you will develop strength, flexibility, posture, and balance. Then explore moving to a variety of music as you create your own dances. Develop an understanding of dance appreciation as you dance amongst a group of friends who respect and admire each others unique ways of moving. Yoga postures and stories and relaxation techniques are integrated into the class to connect body, mind, and spirit. This program is run throughout the school year and will culminate in an informal performance the end of May to share all we learned.

Creative Modern Dance- Grades 7+
Fridays, 3:45pm-4:40pm
8 week session beginning on January 13, 2023
Students learn the craft of choreography as they develop dance vocabulary, original movement, and evaluation techniques to express a wide range of ideas. Explore a variety of dance techniques including modern, ballet, and jazz. Explore moving to rhythmic patterns and learn dance combinations as well as create your own compositions to the various styles of classical, jazz, pop, world, new age, and lyrical music. Explore Yoga flows and relaxation techniques. All levels welcome. This program is run throughout the school year and will culminate in an informal performance the end of May to share all we learned.

Adult Creative Dance
Thursdays, 9:10am-10:10am
Beginning on January 12, 2023
Gently stretch and strengthen your body. Explore movement concepts, develop modern dance skills, improvise, choreograph, and let your creative spirit soar in a safe and friendly atmosphere. All levels of experience are welcome.
Winter Session: 1/12, 1/19, 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 3/2, 3/9
Tuition:  $120.00/8 Week Session

Pepperell Performing Group- Ages 8+
I am interested in beginning a youth performing dance company to share creative dance with the community. We would perform at local nursing homes and festivals to spread the joy of dance. Dancers would also have the opportunity and meet and dance with other creative dancers. All dancers ages
8-18 would be welcome to participate. While I do not have all the final details, we would most likely meet for rehearsals Friday afternoons.
Rehearsals would be scheduled in advance before a performance.  In addition, dancers would be required to attend a weekly creative modern dance class in their age group. Please let me know if you are interested by contacting me at info@creative-dance.com   


Nutcracker Workshop- Grades K-4
December 7 1:00pm-4:00pm
December is time for sugarplums to dance and for fantasies to come to life.
One of my favorite traditions of the holiday season is going to see the Nutcracker. Join us for this special workshop as we create dances to the story and music of the Nutcracker. Parents can start their holiday shopping while the kids dance, make some crafts to take home, and have lots of fun!
Please bring a peanut/nut free snack.

Classes taught by Jennifer McGowan:
Jennifer has danced since her early childhood years with extensive training in Classical Ballet. She began teaching at the age of 14 and then went on to further her studies at Skidmore College where she received her B.S. degree in Dance, with a minor in Early Childhood Education. In addition to ballet she has studied many forms of dance including Creative Dance, Character Dance, Bharata Natyam (Classical Indian Dance), Tap, Modern, Jazz, Ballet, Music and Acting for Dancers, Choreography, and Improvisation. She is also certified to teach Creative Kids Yoga® for children ages 2-12. As a teacher, Jennifer creates a safe environment for students to be themselves while challenging them to discover their full potential. By encouraging students to work together and learn from one another, she fosters mutual respect and a strong sense of community. Jennifer started the Creative Dance Center in 1995 to share her love of dance with the community. She has been sharing her knowledge and love of dance with children for over thirty years and is dedicated to providing quality dance and yoga education for children of all ages. When she is not dancing, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
