About the Instructor- Lisa Forbes I started my dog training business in 2014 after a 20-year career in the animal welfare filed. I began working as an Animal caregiver/Adoption counselor with the Massachusetts Society for the prevention of Cruelty to Animals. In this position, I worked hands on with the animals daily Feeding, Cleaning, Providing Medical care, Preforming behavior assessment and Adoptions. Working with the dogs on a daily basis gave me hands on experience working with many different and challenging dog behaviors. After 5 years with the MSPCA, I went on to the Lowell Humane Society, where I was part of a two-person team tasked with over hauling this shelter. As the Shelter Manager, part of my job was training all new staff, preforming all behavior assessments, setting up and working behavior modification plans when necessary. I have also worked as an Operations manager for the Cocheco Valley Humane Society and The K-9 Coordinator for the Monadnock Humane Society. Working with dogs and their owners has become a passion of mine. After my work in animal shelters, I have seen first and that most dogs are surrendered because they lack basic manners and structure in their daily lives. My goal is to keep dogs and their families together for a lifetime. I have gained all the skills needed to successfully work together with owners and their dogs. And with my positive reinforcement philosophy, fun training style and natural ability to read and understand dogs, I am able to teach you both how to be a successful team. I also offer Private in home training.
